7 Quick Fix could be just the Windows 7 problem solver for you!
7 Quick Fix is small utility (only 472 KB) which requires no installation and can save you a lot of trouble. As the name says, it provides a quick fix for 21 of the most common Windows 7 problems. Although it’s quite old, its proven reliability makes it still worth trying. But let it speak for itself:
“There are a lot of excellent Windows comprehensive repairing and fixing tools around the internet.
But there are times when you want just one quick fix for example when you are under a virus attack and you
just want to enable the Task Manager or the Registry Editor so you can fight the virus back, or when some new installation changed your Windows 7 behavior and you want to restore it.
This is the right time to draw 7 Quick Fix with 21 common Windows 7 fixes, only 472kb, portable, small and fast, a must have on every computer !
Note: There can be a problem with the same symptoms as described here, but it happened by a different reason, in this case, 7 Quick Fix, may not solve the problem but also will not harm your computer
Note: If your computer is part of an organizational network, some issues are likely because of the organization group policy, this tool is only for use with personal and private computers !”
Before we go on to present its features, we must warn you that it is highly advisory for you to read the brief explanations that are given in the lower part of 7 Quick Fix window.
The Windows 7 problems that can be fixed are:
  1. Enable Task Manager – this is perhaps the most annoying of Windows 7 problems. Either due to a virus, or some erratic behavior, this fix helps you regain control over Task Manager
  2. Enable Command Prompt – if Command Prompt was disabled for some reason, you can get it back
  3. Enable Registry Editor – in case you no longer have access to regedit, you could try this fix before doing anything else. Regedit can be necessary to further solve other Windows 7 problems.
  4. Enable Folder Options – You can enable Folder Options in Windows Explorer if they have been previously disabled.
  5. Reboot after Update -prevents Windows 7 from automatically rebooting and/or displaying the reboot dialog after an update session.
  6. Update Shut Down – use this to keep Windows 7 from displaying the “Install these updates and shut down” message on the shutdown button
  7. Slow Shutdown – this is another annoying Windows 7 problem. If the shutdown takes too long, use this button to speed it up a little.
  8. Slow thumbnail - speeds up thumbnail display when hovering your mouse over icons
  9. Restore Aero – speaks for itself
  10. Disable IPv6 – if your ISP/LAN does not support IPv6, you can disable it
  11. Enable IPv6 – reverses the previous fix
  12. No DVD drive – one of the Windows 7 problems that are sometimes hard to solve, DVD drives not recognized by Windows can be fixed here
  13. Installer crash – fixes Windows Installer crashes
  14. Slow menu - decreases menu delay time
  15. Theme changes – prevents themes from changing desktop icons and mouse pointers
  16. System Tray - one of the frequent Windows 7 problems that occur after a software installation is the fact that system tray icons get lost. Use this fix to restore them.
  17. Taskbar properties – you can restore a disabled taskbar function with this fix
  18. Taskbar Context – disabled taskbar context menu options can be re-enable by this fix
  19. Win-X shortcuts -  useful when trying to restore disabled Win+X shortcut keys
  20. Display properties – perhaps the most frequent Windows 7 problems are display-related. Try this fix if you want to restore some display fnctionalities.
  21. Control panel – as the name says, it can help you regain control over Control Panel (sounds pretty scary, doesn’t it?).

7 Quick Fix can be downloaded from Cnet.
