Is JAAGO really that bad ?

Bangladesh’s blogosphere is buzzing with Anti-Jaago posts. Facebook feeds have been flooded with those posts since many days. Most of the posts are really disgusting and have no points to discuss with. But some question have been raised seriously.

Lets see some points arrived against Jaago:
  • Lifestyle of Volunteers
  • Photos of Child labor
  • Fund Usage

Did not Worked! Try this link below!

There is nothing to say about the lifestyle of the volunteers. Jaago has attracted the rich part of the youth and they are used to with the life which is very odd from common people point of view. We can’t blame any side of those. But the organizers should had been warned the volunteers to not do anything odd after wearing the Jaago branded t-shirts. Using personal photographs in public is really bad, we hope bloggers will think about this again in cool mind.

Jaago, like most of the organizations, bought those things from third parties. So we can’t blame Jaago for using child labor in a t-shirt garment.

The most solid point was the fund handling. The volunteers paid there own costs and Jaago get lots of funds from the sponsors. Jaago already running many charitable projects like free schooling, first-aid center and many more (know more about it). Those are round the year projects, so those need a huge amount of money to stay running. Jaago website says the will publish audited report. Still no report is there. Jaago should publish it as soon as possible.

But the way some people reacting against it is not acceptable. There are hundreds or thousands of NGOs running in Bangladesh. Nobody ever asked to see their annual financial reports. But Jaago has been targeted because it was a huge success.

Actually this controversy has brought in front the thinking difference between different divisions of Bangladesh. Both are trying to do something good for the society but opposing each other for their different point of views. Lets stay united, and work together. Feel free to share your thoughts on the topic with comments.
